Reconstruction of few-fs XUV pulses with a perturbative approach

چکیده

A precise temporal characterization of the pulses involved in pump-probe experiments is crucial for a proper investigation ultrafast dynamics several physical systems. Indeed, it required assessment dynamical properties under examination with sufficient resolution. In fewfs/attosecond domain, typical reconstruction procedures require time-consuming interative methods, which are also sensitive to experimental noise and distortion measurement. We developed an approach, called Simplified Trace Reconstruction Perturbative regimE (STRIPE), allows us infrared (IR) extreme ultraviolet (XUV) pulses, used experiment. Our method not based on phase retrival algorithm, this typically much faster than other ones currently known. Moreover, easily including non-idealities that may affect measurement, like possible due measurement procedure itself.

Compression methods for XUV attosecond pulses.

Attosecond extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) pulses generated in gases via high-order harmonic generation typically carry an intrinsic positive chirp. Compression of such pulses has been demonstrated using metallic transmission filters, a method with very limited tunability. We compare here the compression achievable with a diffraction grating based method with that of metallic filters using simulated ...

Time-Dependent B-Spline R-Matrix Approach to Double Ionization of Atoms by XUV Laser Pulses

We present an ab initio and non-perturbative time-dependent approach to the problem of double ionization of a general atom driven by intense XUV laser pulses. After using a highly flexible B-Spline R-matrix method to generate field-free Hamiltonian and electric dipole matrices, the initial state is propagated in time using an efficient ArnoldiLanczos scheme. Test calculations for double ionizat...

Tissue ablation with 100-fs and 200-ps laser pulses

We used water and human skin tissue to compare the surgical potential of 100-fs and 200-ps laser pulses. For investigation of threshold behavior of 100-fs and 200-ps pulses, we use water as a model for tissue. In addition to having a lower threshold, we find that energy deposition is much more consistent with 100-fs pulses. We also compared 100-fs and 200-ps laser pulse effects on the surface a...
